AVA: Russian River Valley
Vineyard: Canfield Estate
Region: Sonoma County
Produced: 72 Cases
The 2024 vintage captures the lighter, brighter side of Canfield Vineyard Pinot Noir a wine defined by freshness, aromatic complexity, and texture. Dark fruit, floral notes, and earthy nuances unfold gradually in the glass, supported by beautifully refined tannins.
Canfield Vineyard’s Goldridge soils and a long, moderate growing season encourage Pinot Noir with vibrant acidity, expressive aromatics, and refined tannins. The 2024 growing season was much more typical compared to the cooler 2023 season. Canfield vineyard experiences marine influence from the Pacific ocean and San Francisco bay as cool air and fog rolls in during the night during the summer months. The sunny afternoons encourage slow ripening while the drop in temperature at night helps to preserve berry acidity bringing overall balance to the wine.
The fruit was gently hand harvested by the light of the moon on September 14, 2024. Gentle extraction was used to emphasize the vineyard’s bright fruit, floral complexity, savory character, and silky tannins.
