FOUNDER’S STORY
Bridging the waters off Japan across the Pacific Ocean to the California coast, Adonna Wines carry a family legacy of farming for Japanese American biochemist-turned-vintner Donna Kato. With her lifelong connection to nature and the intricacies of winemaking, Donna is nurturing a family tradition that originated with her great-grandfather, a peach farmer. Living from the land is embedded in Donna’s pedigree, where agricultural integrity and the highest standards of viticulture meet for the perfection of refined and elegant wine.

OUR APPROACH
Adonna Pinot Noir captures the voice of the vineyard – fruit forward and earthy on the nose, refined tannins that lie silky on the palate, and with bright acidity bringing balance and refinement to the wine. Japanese American vintner Donna Kato, the steward of Canfield Vineyard, produces highly sought-after, limited-production wines from estate-grown Pinot Noir as well as Chardonnay from respected growers in Russian River Valley.
With regenerative practices underway, the vineyard is a living expression of biodiversity and beauty. Canfield Vineyard is Certified Sustainable reflecting Adonna Wines’ care and respect for the land.
Our icon of four rotating ginkgo leaves is a meaningful expression of Adonna's story. The ginkgo represents longevity, resilience, and seasonal renewal. The four leaves honor Donna’s four sons, while the circular motion evokes the cycles of nature, winemaking, and the stages of life.
