CANFIELD
VINEYARD

Nestled on the southern tip of the Russian River Valley, just 18 miles from the coastal village of Bodega Bay, Canfield Vineyard is home to the lauded Pinot Noir grape variety that has defined this award-winning region. Nineteen acres of multi-generational farmland comprise Canfield Vineyard’s five unique blocks — each planted with carefully selected clones — for distinctive expressions of its estate-grown vintages.

Canfield Vineyard’s Goldridge soil is fluffy, fine-grained, sandy, and glows with burnt orange, dark gold, and soft brown hues. Goldridge soil is ideal for growing Pinot Noir and stands out for its superior drainage. With regenerative farming practices underway, the vineyard is a living expression of biodiversity and beauty. Canfield Vineyard is Certified Sustainable reflecting Adonna Wines’ care and respect for the land. Clusters are gently handpicked for our signature Pinot Noir wines.

Canfield Vineyard has a storied history of producing revered Pinot Noir wines. Its site-specific microclimate creates some of the lowest temperatures in the Russian River Valley. The cool nights and morning fog funneling inland through the Petaluma Gap and off the Pacific Ocean are a constant source of natural cool air streams that temper the heat of the sun. The slower ripening preserves acidity, producing wines that are balanced and with the purest expression of the vineyard. Thin-skinned and difficult to grow, Pinot Noir reflects terroir brilliantly.

Our renowned cool-climate winegrowing region is where the land, water, and air breathe in harmony. This epic atmospheric convergence of nature is where tectonic shifts, the ancient sea beds and meandering Russian River sew a tapestry of well-drained, nutrient-poor soils. Vines struggle just enough to create delicate wines that are rich in aromatic nuance. The diurnal shift in temperatures builds concentrated complexity, producing wines that are refined and elegant.

The Russian River Valley is not just a place where Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

grow well—it’s a place where the varieties reveal their truest selves.
