MEET THE TEAM SHAPING ADONNA WINES
THE ARTISANS OF ADONNA WINES
July brings a quieter moment in the growing season at Canfield Vineyard. Our focus has shifted to canopy management: carefully positioning vines, thinning leaves, and creating the ideal balance of sunlight and airflow as the fruit develops.
While the vines are doing their work, we wanted to introduce the people guiding ours: Winemaker Ashley Holland and Vineyard Manager Cody Garzini.
MEET OUR WINEMAKER, ASHLEY HOLLAND
Ashley’s path to winemaking started somewhere unexpected: rural Oklahoma, where she grew up riding horses and dreaming of becoming an equine veterinarian.
A college elective called “International Beverage Education” introduced her to the world of wine and shifted the direction of her career. She quickly discovered that the scientific foundation she had built through animal science could translate into winemaking, a craft where precision, observation, and curiosity all play a role.
Her journey has taken her from California and Oregon to Australia, New Zealand, and Uruguay, experiencing different regions, climates, and approaches to winemaking along the way. Ultimately, it was Northern California’s coastal influence and diverse microclimates that drew her back.
Today, Ashley brings that global perspective to Adonna Wines, combining technical knowledge with a deep appreciation for the character of each vineyard site.
MEET OUR VINEYARD MANAGER, CODY GARZINI
Cody Garzini oversees the viticultural practices at Adonna Wines’ Canfield Vineyard, managing everything from vineyard design to the daily decisions that shape the health of the vines. His role extends beyond day-to-day vineyard care, with oversight of vineyard design, operations, and the decisions that support vine health throughout the growing season.
Based in Sonoma County, Cody has built his career around sustainable farming practices and thoughtful vineyard management. He works with small- to mid-sized winegrowers to develop practical solutions that support both the land and the quality of the fruit it produces.
Cody’s approach is centered on long-term vineyard health, with careful attention to the details that help each site thrive – vineyard practices aligned with everything Adonna aims to achieve in each glass.
A SHARED APPROACH
Ashley and Cody bring different perspectives to Adonna Wines, but their work is informed by the same philosophy: respect the vineyard and allow the qualities of Canfield Vineyard to guide their work.
